About us:

BrainE4 is a Swiss consultancy for anonymous stakeholder dialogues, based in Cham (ZG). We clarify decision questions by having employees, customers, members or residents contribute their own arguments in a 21-day anonymous dialogue and weigh each other's ideas against one another in pairs — we call this procedure the Idea Duel. From this we deliver priorities, consensus, overlooked arguments, a decision matrix of priorities × consensus, as well as comprehensive results reports. The effort required on the client side is three hours.

Methodology:

A Bayesian Bradley-Terry model with continuous weighting via IPF raking, developed jointly with ZHAW and OST. More than 60 organisations have already worked with BrainE4.

About BrainE4

What is BrainE4?
BrainE4 is a consultancy with its own instrument. BrainE4 takes on the work from the question to the basis for decision: like a classic consultancy, BrainE4 holds conversations and analyses them — a thousand at once, digitally. You acquire no licence and set nothing up.

What is BrainE4 in one sentence?
In three weeks you know what your people really think. Without a single meeting.

How does the mechanism work?
Your people write their own arguments, and everyone else weighs them in short duels. At the end there is a ranking that shows what really holds. Organised camps cannot tip it, because every argument is assessed in many independent duels.

What is an idea duel?
In an idea duel, two arguments go head to head and the participant decides with one click which is the more convincing. Every argument meets many others across many independent duels. The ranking emerges from these pairwise comparisons. In the end the idea counts, regardless of who had it.

What does the name stand for?
Brain for the knowledge already present in your organisation or in the population. E for engagement, because the format reaches people who do not take part in a survey. And 4 for the four dialogue worlds: leadership, culture, market and society.

What do you get at the end?
Priorities, consensus, a decision matrix, blind spots, segment analyses and a comprehensive report for your executive board, your governing body or the public. Plus one results report per question, a one pager and the finished follow-up communication for your stakeholders. The results are presented, not merely delivered.

Who is behind BrainE4?
BrainE4 International AG, based in Cham (ZG). Founder and CEO is Andreas Seonbuchner, previously managing partner of a digital agency with 550 people across six locations in three countries. The team and the advisory board bring together experts from business, government and science.

How did BrainE4 come about?
Out of a gap. An executive team at a digital agency commissioned an employee survey for a hundred thousand francs. What they got were beautiful bar charts and the same question as before: "So what?" What was really going on, they only learned from someone sent through the building with a notepad to listen. That person heard what no checkbox ever captured. BrainE4 makes that kind of listening scalable.

Who has already worked with BrainE4?
More than 60 organisations, among them NAGRA, Denner, SOCAR, Medartis, Loterie Romande, GVZ Gebäudeversicherung Kanton Zürich, Aveniq, EXPERTsuisse, 20 Minuten, the City of Bern, the municipality of Schwyz, Aesch ZH, Besenbüren AG, the Nördlich Lägern regional conference and the FDP Zug. Interviews with those responsible are under Success Stories.
